Jagex layouts the next year of RuneScape content and it looks delightful

It feels like RuneScape has been around for as long as the internet has existed, and yet, has managed to remain popular and relevant. You may ask how, and if you tuned into the recent RuneScape Ahead video, the answer would be clear as there is some incredibly interesting content ahead.

I would like to start with the part that looks most interesting to me. Towards the beginning of Winter, RuneScape will release Group Ironman mode. This will allow you to restart the game with up to five friends, without XP boosts or help from outside this group.

Group Ironman comes with some pretty handy communal features such as Group Storage, and some new cosmetics such as debut Milestone Capes that upgrade as your group progresses. It sounds like an incredibly fun challenge to take on with a group of friends.

Looking at something closer, we will get a skilling update in Autumn that will increase Mining and Smithing to 110, followed by Woodcutting and Fletching in Winter, and then Crafting next year. So it will soon be time to restart that level grind again. Late 2025 will also expand Glienor with some new areas, which will be fun to explore.

For those who want to go toe to toe with a tough new challenge, you will be spoilt for choice. Head to the top of the Sanctum of Rebirth and take on the new skilling boss, The Gate of Elidinis. Elidinis is the absent goddess, a foreboding name. You will encounter a range of active mechanics to master, and some powerful new skilling rewards.

Our final cherry-picked update, take a look at the Roadmap for a full breakdown, is the return of Seasonal Events. We will be able to celebrate the spooky season with Harvest Hollow with its new quest, activity and scarily good rewords, followed by Christmas Village. A festive event, but we all know Halloween is better.

RuneScape is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
