Mirthwood Roadmap Promises Multiplayer Next Year and More

Developer Bad Ridge Games and publisher V Publishing have revealed an initial Mirthwood post-launch roadmap, detailing some of the features that are coming to the morally-charged life sim after its release this September.

Perhaps the biggest addition on the slate for Mirthwood is co-op multiplayer, which will be added to the game as part of a major update at some point next year. Both online and local play will be supported.

Post-launch, Mirthwood will also feature support for modding on PC, and another update will add “heartwarming family dynamics” to let you start and grow a family.

Festivals are just one of the features making their way to Mirthwood at or after launch.

Festivals are another major feature being added to Mirthwood after its launch (or, technically, at launch). The first of these, the Festival of Blossoms, will start on September 11th alongside Mirthwood‘s launch, and more festivals offering “special activities and quests” will be added later down the line.

You can also look forward to seasonal content updates bringing themed rewards and activities around occasions like Halloween and Christmas. After all, it wouldn’t be much of a life sim without Christmas and Halloween!

Naturally, there will be lots of other updates and content drops throughout Mirthwood‘s lifetime. The devs have confirmed that the game will feature both paid and free content, so if you’re willing to pony up a little extra cash, you’ll likely get some more substantial stuff.

If you’re unfamiliar with Mirthwood, it’s a life sim “inspired by Fable, Stardew ValleyRimWorld, and The Sims“.

You play a character who flees a war-torn continent in order to start life anew in an unfamiliar land, and so begins the usual life sim day-to-day; befriending locals, exploring your town’s surroundings, and generally becoming a part of the community.

Mirthwood launches for PC via Steam on September 11th. Stay tuned for more on this and all other things life sim.
