Zenless Zone Zero earns $25 million in first five days, tops 50 million downloads

According to initial sales data, Hoyoverse’s latest gacha title, Zenless Zone Zero, has achieved roughly $25 million in revenue merely five days after the game’s launch.

While these numbers (via AppMagic) are impressive, they track behind the company’s other titles in Genshin Impact ($35.3 million) and Honkai: Star Rail ($55 million) during the same five day window. The new game did so while garnering more pre-registrations and downloads than the previous two as well.

It’s worth noting the reported revenue values only account for purchases through mobile platforms on iOS and Android and do no account for other platforms such as PC or PlayStation 5.

There are numerous possible reasons for the decline in revenue. These include things like the middling response Zenless Zone Zero has seemingly gathered from fans and online creators compared to its predecessors. Also at this point, there is much more competition in the gacha sphere since the launch of the other two games.

Some may view this news negatively considering the pullback in revenue compared to HoYoverse’s other works, however this value is still a strong launch, placing the game ahead of other popular recent releases in Wuthering Waves and Reverse: 1999.

Zenless Zone Zero is available now on PlayStation 5, iOS (via the App Store), Android (via Google Play), and PC (via direct download and the Epic Games Store).
