Vampire Survivors Developer Explains Lack of PlayStation Release Date Announcement

Developer Poncle announced earlier this year that its beloved top-down roguelite bullet hill shoot ’em up Vampire Survivors was headed to PlayStation consoles at some point this summer, and now that summer is well and truly underway, those looking to play the game on Sony’s consoles are beginning to wonder when a release date will be announced.

Taking to Twitter, Poncle has addressed that question, though a release date still remains elusive. As per the studio, the reason it still doesn’t have specifics to share on that front is that with this being the first time it’s going through the PlayStation submission progress, things are “taking a little longer than usual”. Alongside that, Poncle says it’s also “doing some trial and error on Trophies to ensure we get them right.”

“But we’ll let you know ASAP when as have a solid date,” the developer adds.

Vampire Survivors has seen a string of meaty updates this year so far, with the Space-54 and Laborratory free updates in March and April respectively, and the paid Contra-themed Operation Guns DLC last month.

Vampire Survivors is currently available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android, and is coming to PS5 and PS4.
