NOT SAME IN CANADA TODAY

How is it our country is going through so much unrest?

I grew up in Fernie, B.C. We welcomed people from many other countries. They embraced our culture, our way of life. They bought a home, raised a family, shared their gardens, visited our parents. Kids played sports, went to school, learned our language and became friends.

Sadly, it is not that way today.

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C.

OUR CANADA GONE

Two more scandals for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. What are we up to now, six? Trudeau was aware of election interference in the past two elections and that certain MPs were involved with foreign countries, but of course he is not advising Canadians because he might lose some votes. Then the auditor general caught up to his government handing over millions of taxpayer dollars in contracts without following proper procedures.

OUR CIVILITY SUBSUMED

Alas, the internationally acclaimed civility that Canada has long been known for appears to now being subsumed by the vitriolic chanting of the self-righteous here as well.

Upon seeing the recent letters assailing Health Minister Mark Holland, one can only assume that the bigoted views that have infected the Republican party to the south of us, and much of Europe as well, have now found their way to certain mean-spirited Canadians.

Sigh.

HYPOCRISY BEYOND DESCRIPTION

The hypocrisy of Liberal cabinet ministers apparently knows no bounds. Recently, Health Minister Mark Holland suggested that Canadian families taking a vacation, via a road trip, would contribute to “the planet burning up.” Isn’t that remarkable? Don’t the likes of Justin Trudeau, Chrystia Freeland and Steven Guilbeault frequently fly on private jets to attend various conferences? Hasn’t Trudeau vacationed everywhere imaginable, flying on a private jet? Didn’t Liberal cabinet ministers recently enjoy a plush “retreat” on the East Coast? No doubt they flew there.

A single private jet flight by Trudeau, or one of his cabinet cronies, produces far more carbon emissions than thousands of Canadian families taking a road trip to camp or visit desirable sites.

The unbridled hypocrisy of Liberal cabinet ministers transcends logic and decency and is simply nauseating.
