The Jackbox Megapicker Lets You Pick and Choose Your Games on PC Next Month

Jackbox has announced The Jackbox Megapicker, a new free Steam app that lets you pick and choose individual games from all of your Jackbox collections.

The Jackbox Party Pack series began in 2014, and nine further installments have been released since then, with the tenth launching late last year. If you own them all on Steam, it can be pretty tricky to remember which minigames belong to which collection.

Thankfully, The Jackbox Megapicker will soon make that problem a thing of the past, as long as you’re using Steam.

Jackbox has had a fair few requests for a Megapicker app.

In a press release, Jackbox says that many users have asked for a Megapicker-style app over the years, and that with more than 50 games now available via the Jackbox Party Pack titles, the time is ripe for such an app to debut.

Essentially, Megapicker will do exactly what you think it’ll do. It’ll scan your Steam library for Jackbox Party Pack games, then add them to a unified app from which you can launch whichever games you like.

You’ll also be able to sort and filter the games you own, although Jackbox hasn’t said exactly how you’ll be able to do this or what the limitations of the system will be yet.

We do know that The Jackbox Megapicker is launching sometime in July, and that Jackbox will provide more information about exactly how it’ll work in the coming weeks.

Incredibly, The Jackbox Party Pack is on its tenth installment.

If you’re unfamiliar with The Jackbox Party Pack (and didn’t play it extensively during the pandemic somehow), it’s a series of party game collections in which participants use their phones to play silly games.

Those games often involve drawing and writing prompts, as well as trivia questions and much more. They’re silly, fun games that, like most party games, are usually as fun as the people with whom you play them.

There’s no word yet on whether The Jackbox Megapicker will make its way to other platforms besides Steam. Stay tuned for more.
