Princess Maker 2 Regeneration Delayed on PlayStation After Sony Demands Changes

Upcoming raising simulator remake Princess Maker 2 Regeneration has been delayed on PlayStation consoles after Sony demanded changes to the game on its platforms.

Per an announcement made by developer Bliss Brain (for which we’re using machine translation), the changes include the removal of certain items, as well as two of the game’s endings being “deleted”.

Certain items that increase the size of the main princess character’s bust, as well as two endings pertaining to marrying the princess’ adoptive father and caretaker respectively, will be removed.

Princess Maker 2 Regeneration on PlayStation consoles may not be quite as you remember it.

This means that instead of the July 11th release date, Princess Maker 2 Regeneration will instead launch on PS5 and PS4 on August 8th.

The release dates on PC and Nintendo Switch remain unchanged, though, which feels a litlte odd. Who would have thought that an uncensored game would launch on a Nintendo console before a PlayStation platform?

It’s worth noting that one of the removed endings might have been causing some discomfort as early as Refine‘s 2016 Steam release. The ending in which the princess marries her father is the only special ending that doesn’t have a corresponding Steam achievement.

The ending in which the princess marries Cube, her butler, does have an achievement associated with it, though. You’ll have to play the game to find out why Sony found that one objectionable, I suppose.

Princess Maker 2 Regeneration allows you to experience the PC-98 classic with all-new graphics.

If you’re unfamiliar with Princess Maker 2 Regeneration, it’s a remake of the influential 1993 PC-98 game. It’s based on 2004’s Princess Maker 2 Refine, another remake that got its first English release on PC back in 2016.

Regeneration will feature redrawn graphics and an updated UI, but it’ll largely be the same raising simulator as it was back in 1993, in which you take the role of a father who must raise a child bestowed upon him by a god.

Many of the game’s visuals have been updated even over 2004’s Refine in order to bring Regeneration closer to the visual style of the PC-98 version of Princess Maker 2.

In addition, Regeneration will allow you to see your daughter’s stats at all times so that you can more effectively decide what you think she should do next.

Princess Maker 2 Regeneration lands on PC and Nintendo Switch on July 11th, and on PlayStation consoles on August 8th. Stay tuned for more on this one.
