Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Reveal Seven-Star Tera Raid For April 2024

Highlights

  • Players can face off against Meganium in the new Seven-Star Tera Raid battle in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet this April.
  • Between April 4 and April 7, and then again between April 11 and 14, the Meganium the Unrivaled battle can be tackled by players.
  • Those looking to complete the fight will want to counter Meganium’s Grass and Psychic attacks with strong Dark-type and Steel-type Pokemon.

To start the month of April, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet pulled back the curtain on a new challenge for trainers to face, as the next Seven-Star Tera Raid battle will pit players against Meganium the Unrivaled. The new Seven-Star Tera Raid battle in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet against Meganium will follow after a break in Seven-Star boss battles.

Known as the Herb Pokemon, Meganium is the fully-evolved form of Chikorita, and the Grass-type starter of Pokemon Gold and Silver. Normally a Grass-type Pokemon, Meganium evolves from Bayleef, starting at level 32. Though Meganium and its previous forms were initially unobtainable in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, trainers can now catch them in The Indigo Disk DLC after upgrading the Coastal Biome of the Terarium or transferring from Pokemon Home. In battle, Meganium is considered the weakest of the three Johto starters, as its defense and special defense stats are its best statistics, and it has a limited set of offensive moves.

However, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers will be able to face a different form of the Herb Pokemon soon. The Seven-Star Tera Raid Battle against Meganium the Unrivaled will start on Thursday, April 4, at 8:00 PM Eastern, and end on Sunday, April 7, at 7:59 PM Eastern. Trainers who miss out on facing Meganium will get a second chance the following weekend, from April 11 to 14. The Seven-Star Tera Raid battle against Meganium the Unrivaled will be the first in nearly a month, following a second round against Charizard the Unrivaled. Meganium the Unrivaled will have the Psychic type as its Tera type, and it will grant the Mightiest Mark to Pokemon that can defeat it.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Seven-Star Tera Raid (April 2024)

  • Meganium the Unrivaled (Psychic Tera Type)
  • Starts Thursday, April 4, at 8:00 PM Eastern, and Ends on Sunday, April 7, at 7:59 PM Eastern
  • Second round from April 11 to April 14

Though it is not the strongest of its Pokemon starter trio, Meganium the Unrivaled will have the Hidden Ability Leaf Guard to grant it immunity to status conditions such as poison during harsh sunlight. This means that Meganium will likely have Sunny Day as one of its available moves. While it can also use Grass-type attacks such as Solar Beam, Giga Drain, and Solar Blade, Meganium’s only Psychic-type attack that can take advantage of its Tera type is Zen Headbutt. In addition to neutralizing harsh sunlight, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers can counter Meganium’s attacks with strong Dark-type Pokemon such as Incineroar and Umbreon, and Steel-types such as Corviknight that can set up defenses.

Meganium the Unrivaled’s imminent arrival in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will make Feraligatr the last Johto starter not to be featured as a raid boss. Only time will tell when the Water-type starter of Johto will join the ranks.
