Today’s Fortnite update brought a lot of new content. Considering it’s the first major update of Chapter 5 Season 2, this comes as no surprise. Epic Games has changed a couple of things in each mode, which is why we’ve prepared Fortnite patch notes for you.

What did today’s Fortnite update bring?

General Fortnite patch notes

  • Return of Midas
  • Bug fixes for all game modes

Fortnite Battle Royale patch notes

  • Drum Gun unvaulted
    • The fan-favorite weapon comes in four rarities
  • Chains of Hades Mythic item unvaulted
    • The item was briefly available on the first day of the season, but Epic Games removed it after a few hours
    • The item was also buffed and deals approximately 20 more damage compared to its first variant
  • Added Shield Bubble Jr.
  • Free quest rewards

The Floor is Lava LTM wasn’t enabled right away, as Epic will likely release it around 9 AM Eastern Time. The game mode will be available in the Squads playlist. It appears that Midas will not be sold in the Item Shop for now, but that may change in the future.

Fortnite Festival changes

LEGO Fortnite patch notes

  • Added a couple of new items that will be released later on
    • Snowball Launcher
    • Prop-O-Matic
    • Explosive Goo Gun
    • Flint Knock Pistol
    • Kymera Ray Gun
    • Burst Pulse Rifle
    • Apple
    • Banana
  • Added more files for UEFN support
  • Added files for some new mechanics, such as reviving, getting knocked, etc.
    • This could indicate that PvP modes will be released soon

Rocket Racing updates

  • Added support for UEFN
    • Once Epic enables this, players will be able to create their own Rocket Racing maps

So far, these patch notes come from Fortnite data miners, as the update came out around 4 AM Eastern Time. However, Epic Games may soon release more information, including weapon balance changes, gameplay tweaks, and more.
