Epic Games is well known for collaborating with other companies. These collaborations have brought a lot of new content to Fortnite and will continue to do so. Chapter 5 has seen a big collaboration with LEGO, and Epic just announced a long-term partnership with Disney.

The two companies will create a new universe that will bring many popular characters to Fortnite. In addition to the in-game content, Disney has invested $1.5 billion in Epic Games. Considering that the video game developer was valued at more than $32 billion in 2022, this comes down to less than 5% of the company.

Disney, on the other hand, has a value of approximately $180 billion. It is best known for its movie studio division, which includes Walt Disney Pictures, Pixar, Lucasfilm, Marvel Studios, and others. Technically, Disney has already collaborated with Epic in the past by bringing Star Wars and Marvel characters to Fortnite. However, the future is only going to get brighter.

In the official statement, Disney teased some upcoming content, including Pixar and Avatar characters.

In addition to being a world-class games experience and interoperating with Fortnite, the new persistent universe will offer a multitude of opportunities for consumers to play, watch, shop and engage with content, characters and stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, Avatar and more.

Disney

Considering that this will be a multi-year partnership between Disney and Epic Games, we may not get many characters in Fortnite very soon. However, it’s just a matter of time before amazing Disney characters take over Fortnite’s universe.

Interestingly, the media company also mentioned watching Disney content inside Fortnite. Furthermore, the collaboration may come with a new sandbox mode, as players will be able to create their own experiences. Disney hasn’t revealed many details about these features, but we’ll likely find out more about them over the next few weeks.

With Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 coming in a month, it will be interesting to see if Epic Games will release new Disney content with it. It won’t be surprising if we get another Marvel season or something similar in the future.
