How to Get Umiushi Beef Bowls Takeaway

The Iwatodai Strip Mall in Persona 3 Reload has plenty of places to buy food. There’s Wakatsu Kitchen for brain food, Hagakure Ramen for Charm boosts, and Wilduck Burger boosts Courage if you can squeeze in through the crowds.

However, there’s one spot in the strip mall so busy that you can never eat in: Umiushi Beef Bowls. When you try to enter, the cashier suggests you order takeout instead, but you need to be a member to do so. Getting this membership takes some time and money, but the items Umiushi sells are worth the investment.

There are several editions of Persona 3 Reload to choose from, and here is what is included in each one.

How to Become an Umiushi Member

Persona 3 Reload Public Computer

The first thing you need to become an Umiushi member is a little patience. As the Umiushi cashier suggests, you can get your membership from a fan book sold in the neighboring net café, but the café won’t be open until a few weeks into the game. Specifically, you have to wait until the Iwatodai Dorm’s internet connection gets fixed on 4/29.

Starting on this day, you can use the public computer in the dorm lobby. The main character will only enter the net café to buy software once he has access to this computer, and the item “Umiushi Fan Book” is at the bottom of the list. It also costs a very affordable 450 yen.

With the fan book in your inventory, you can interact with the public computer and select it from the list. Time will pass when you use this item, but it won’t cost any more money, and you’ll have free access to the Umiushi takeout menu from that day forward.

Is the Umiushi Membership Worth It?

Persona 3 Reload Umiushi Menu

In a word: yes. One of the first menu items is the Spring Cabbage Bowl, which restores 100 HP to one ally and costs 800 yen. That’s the same amount of healing as Medical Powder, which costs 1,400 yen normally and 980 yen while on sale. You’ll make back the price of the fan book by buying three Cabbage Bowls instead of Medical Powder. The Umiushi Beef Bowl is less of a bargain since it only restores 20 HP, but the takeout menu doesn’t stop there.

Like other stores in Persona 3 Reload, Umiushi Beef Bowls updates its sales list as the game progresses. For instance, in May, the restaurant adds the Great Yakiniku Bowl, which provides an attack buff for three turns. Finding an item like that for sale is rare in any Persona game.

Umiushi Beef Bowls is an exclusive place compared to other locations in the game, and gaining access costs important resources. However, the exclusive and low-priced items on their menu are well worth this cost.
