The most important questions about the Ski World Cup

How are points distributed?

The top 30 finishers in each ski race will receive points. Exclude riders who are in the top 30 in a race but are more than 8% behind the winning time (for example, because the driver made a serious mistake) – in this case, no points are awarded. The top six receive the following points:

  1. 100 points
  2. 80 points
  3. 60 points
  4. 50 points
  5. 45 points
  6. 40 points

The points then decrease in increments of 4, starting from 8th place in 3 increments, from 10th place in 2 increments, and finally from 15th place in 1 increments, until 30th place earns 1 point.

How many ski races are there in total this season?

In the 2024/25 winter season, 36 women's matches will be held at 20 different venues. The men's tournament features 39 matches at 20 locations.

How many competitions does Switzerland host?

Switzerland will host four Alpine Skiing World Cups in 2024/25. Two matches are held in St. Moritz, two in Adelboden, three in Wengen and two in Crans-Montana. A total of nine Ski World Cup races will be held in Switzerland this season.
