A new leak from Honkai: Star Rail reveals that one of the game’s upcoming playable characters will debut as a boss during Version 2.0.

A recent leak shared to the Honkai: Star Rail leaks subreddit via prominent leaker Dimbreath gives the first details about Boothill’s kit within Honkai: Star Rail. Boothill’s Skill features a unique dueling mechanic, locking himself into combat with an enemy until either their weakness is broken or they are defeated. Boothill also receives a “bullet” stack as a reward, granting him a special attack and an extra turn once he reaches five stacks. Boothill’s Ultimate within Star Rail is said to increase break damage and delay the target’s turn, potentially also afflicting the enemy with Physical Weakness.

While the post does not give any details about Boothill’s role within Star Rail teams, the kit lends itself to Boothill arriving as a DPS. Boothill’s gameplay appears to heavily focus on dishing out high damage to opponents between his duel-themed Skill and his damage-buffing Ultimate. Boothill’s Skill putting him in a solo duel with an enemy means the character will likely benefit from parties built around buffing one specific character, pairing well with supports like the recently released Ruan Mei. A release window was not confirmed for Boothill’s addition to Honkai: Star Rail.

Boothill’s impending arrival to the roster comes as HoYoverse has already revealed a plethora of new characters for Penacony’s debut. Black Swan and Sparkle will star as Version 2.0’s two featured five-star characters, with the former acting as a DPS unit while the latter comes as a Skill-focused support. Version 2.0 will also see the addition of four-star character Misha, leaked to be an Ice DPS unit focused around AoE damage. Honkai: Star Rail‘s roster is set to grow significantly with Penacony, both through already revealed characters and teased newcomers.
