The developers of Battlestate Games have released the new update 0.14 for Escape From Tarkov, but it seems that the patch is currently facing stability issues. Escape From Tarkov is one of the best extraction shooters, but it’s technically still in early access, so issues like this one are not uncommon when updates are released.

Escape From Tarkov is a tactical FPS released in 2017. Set in Russia, the game pits two rival private military companies against each other in raids. The title is well known for being an extraction shooter, as players fight each other while trying to escape from an area. After its release, Escape From Tarkov was often praised for getting gritty realism right, as it takes inspiration from military simulation games and offers a pretty hardcore experience.

Now, Battlestate Games has released the new Update 0.14 for Escape From Tarkov. Unfortunately, the patch does not seem to be working well, as many players have been unable to download it or play the game at all after installing it. To make matters worse, even the official Escape From Tarkov website is under maintenance right now. However, the developers are already aware of the situation and are working to solve the problem.

When the patch is working as intended, it will improve Escape From Tarkov in several ways. The update will add new guns, rework the recoil system, and implement features such as vaulting. One of the main highlights, however, is a new map called Ground Zero. Unlike other Escape From Tarkov maps, Ground Zero is restricted to players under level 20, working as a useful way for new gamers to be safe from higher-level ones. Another important addition to the patch is the introduction of a new boss called Kollontay, who will be present in the Streets of Tarkov map and will patrol the area around Klimov Shopping Mall and the Tarkov Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time that one of the game’s patches has caused issues for some people. Escape From Tarkov’s patch 0.13 was released back in December 2022, introducing new items, weapons, maps, and a restricted quest system. However, the Escape From Tarkov patch also introduced a new bug in the game’s audio, which stopped working correctly for some gamers. Fortunately, the problem was later fixed by the developers, and it’s expected that the same will happen with the current issue soon.
