Baldur’s Gate 3 Gets Another Facelift with Monstrous Patch 15

Just weeks after the last update, Larian Studios has unleashed another behemoth onto the Forgotten Realms with Patch 15. While not quite as earth-shattering in its content additions, this hotfix packs a punch when it comes to squashing bugs and polishing the player experience.

This is a lot of awesome new content, and a lot more is mentioned in the full patch notes on Steam. We know that you likely don’t want every last detail and just want to stick to the most important things that the community has asked for. So, we’ve gone over the most important parts below.

Probably the most welcome fix tackles the unsettling case of the “eldritch horrors,” as many have called them. This means companions’ faces will no longer morph into fleshy nightmares with gaping eye sockets. Patch 15 exorcises this unsettling glitch, ensuring a return to familiar (and thankfully non-terrifying) visages. Patch 15 also tackles a slew of gameplay roadblocks. Save file issues that everyone was complaining about are addressed, and incompatible mods preventing loading are fixed.

Japanese players on PC and PS5 (in Japan only) can now play the full Baldur’s Gate 3 experience in their native tongue. Larian may also expand further so more people can enjoy the game in their own language, which is awesome. The performance was boosted, with optimizations tackling laggy cinematics and memory-hungry lava bubbles. Multiplayer gets some love, too, with fixes for disappearing chests, misplaced avatars, and reconnecting woes.

Finally, ‘The Deal with the Devil’ quest now acknowledges various Epilogue outcomes, ensuring your choices truly resonate throughout the journey. Plus, Karlach finally gets her rightful spotlight in Avernus, regardless of her form.

As usual, Larian Studios has not disappointed us; a lot is happening in this patch. If you see any more problems, report them because it seems like Larian is destroying these issues.
