Both DayZ and Icarus are multiplayer survival games, each offering bits and pieces of the open-world survival experience that The Day Before had promised to deliver. In their posts on Twitter, both studios thank their fans for years of support as each team continued to develop their products and make their games the best they could be for their fans. The Day Before is in hot water for falling short of its marketing promises, leaving players feeling cheated and even accusing Fntastic of scamming customers.

The name of the sale, The Day After Survival Sale, cheekily nods to The Day Before and seems to suggest the games as alternate options for those disappointed by it. The bundle description claims to display the “stark contrasts of survival,” featuring aggressive zombie infestations and alien-infested wilderness begging to be explored. Coming after the massive wave of negative reviews for The Day Before, Bohemia Interactive and RocketWerkz are striking at the perfect moment as players are looking for similar multiplayer-survival games to play after being let down.
These displays of gratitude towards fans and shade towards Fntastic can be interpreted in several ways, from hilarious to slightly hypocritical.
