Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone players can enjoy numerous improvements in the form of a significant new update that’s just been released. Now in its first season, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has added new maps, modes, weapons, and even a fourth story chapter for Zombies. Additionally, Season 1 introduced the new Battle Royale map Urzikstan to Call of Duty: Warzone.

The multiplayer component of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has been dealing with some issues as of late. Mainly, a number of cheaters have wrongfully gained access to MWZ’s Ray Gun Wonder Weapon for unintended use in multiplayer matches. As a response, Sledgehammer Games has implemented a temporary fix in the form of punishment, having the Ray Gun deal damage to the cheaters when fired. Additionally, an issue with the multiplayer’s Breach Drones has caused it to dole out more damage than intended, leading to some complaints from the community.

A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 player gets a nuke in record time, but some players point out that it’s a result of the game’s persisting issues.

Sledgehammer has revealed the patch notes for its large new update, which addresses many issues across Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3‘s multiplayer suite, and also brings changes to Warzone. In terms of multiplayer, the update addressed cheaters illegally getting their hands on the Zombies Ray Gun in multiplayer matches. It also adjusted the Breacher Drone’s impact detection to dial in the damage done to opponents. Additionally, this MW3 update tweaks the progression system, allowing players to destroy enemy field upgrades, such as Trophy Systems, Comms Scramblers, and Deployable Cover, in order to advance challenge requirements related to destroying enemy equipment.

As for Call of Duty: Warzone, this new update adds a litany of small adjustments to many of the game’s weapons. A total of eleven Warzone guns have been tweaked, with ten of them being from Modern Warfare 3. The Fennec 45 SMG is the only weapon from last year’s Modern Warfare 2 to see an adjustment with this new update. Most importantly, all of these adjustments are nerfs, with many of the weapons seeing reductions to max damage and/or headshot multipliers. MW3‘s Haymaker shotgun and Tyr handgun took the biggest hits, with the Haymaker’s max damage dropping from 52 to 36, and the Tyr’s akimbo damage plunging from 120 to 70.
