The Best Marvel Snap Deck for Blob

Since he’s a late-game gainer, the best deck for Blob is a Hela-Modok lineup with big cards. You can assemble this build by paring up Blob, Hela, and Modok and complete the setup with Quicksilver, Okoye, Armor, Taskmaster, Magneto, She-Hulk, Invisible Woman, The Infinaut, and The Living Tribunal.

Explore the deck synergies below:

  • Quicksilver starts in your hand, a guaranteed early drop.
  • Okoye buffs the entire deck, preparing it for Blob.
  • Armor protects Blob and Hela’s lines.
  • Invisible Woman creates a Taskmaster into Blob combo. (You drop both in the same lane, so Taskmaster is revealed after Blob’s turn-six play.)
  • Modok removes the hand so Hela can resurrect them on the board. This is a backup plan for when your hand is full of big cards.
  • Hela recreates cards that Modok discarded.
  • The Living Tribunal distributes Blob’s Power to other lanes.
  • She-Hulk becomes a cheap drop after each turn skip.
  • The Infinaut and Magneto are Blob’s feeder cards.

Tips for Playing Blob

blob card overview.

When playing Blob, your goal should be retaining the big cards in the deck. There are multiple ways to do so. You can skip turns, keep your hand full, or have spot-guaranteed cards in the deck.

  • Skip turns. Blob can compensate for the lack of other cards on the board. So, don’t hesitate to skip turns to keep the deck full.
  • Keep the hand full. Having seven cards in hand means Blob has more cards to eat. Use this to your advantage when you get a solid hand.
  • Have a backup plan. Don’t build around Blob; have other killer combos to support the board when he’s not drawn.

Also, Blob doesn’t synergize with On Reveal gainers such as Devil Dinosaur, Knull, and Darkhawk. Upon absorbing them, Blob gets the base Power, which is three for Dino and zero for the other two.

How to Counter Blob

Since he’s both an Ongoing and On Reveal card, Blob can be countered with Cosmo and Echo. However, since most players drop Blob on turn six, a turn-five Leech is also an undeniable counter—he would remove all his abilities before your opponent gets to play it.

Since Blob’s Power is gained through a merge, Shadow King won’t be able to debuff him.

Is Blob Worth It?

Blob synergizes with most archetypes, making him an excellent Series 5 investment. Thanks to his surprise element, Blob fits ramp and Hela decks, bringing in extra Cubes with the unpredictable final-round attack.

The only disadvantage of running Blob decks is RNG. If you build the entire deck around him, there’s a good chance that one mistimed draw will ruin the entire strategy.
