What to expect in World of Tanks Blitz’s Holiday Ops 2024 and how to get involved

World of Tanks Blitz is updating that old story of Santa sneaking down your chimney and silently leaving presents like a jolly old ninja into something a little more modern. Vinnie Jones has traded the sleigh for a tank and is ringing in the festive times with a few not-so-quiet explosions as he heads the Holiday Ops 2024. Who has a fireplace anymore anyway?

Before we head into the Ops themselves, let’s get suitably tooled up a bit first. Until December 10th – so act fast – you can enter yourself into the Cobra Draw. There’s a chance to win Garage gear, containers, a legendary camo for the Cobra, and, of course, somewhere to put this camouflage; the Cobra itself. You can roll into the new year on this metal beast capable of devastating foes with a 400 HP single shot, giving you more than enough damage to tackle the main event.

Rack up those victories to earn your gloves

As you play a variety of matches; regular, ratings, or temporary modes, you can start to collect some Boxing Gloves. These will only drop for your first five wins a day, and if you are comfortably seated in a Tier Four to Ten tank. There are also only ten days to complete these after you first log in before December 20th. Luckily, if you have to work late and don’t get all five wins in one day, your leftovers will roll to the next, so you can still hit the full 50 days of Gloves to spend on the Event Stages.

To make sure players aren’t just kicking back and getting carried to victory, you need to cross a threshold of XP earned per match to get the Gloves, without any form of XP boost, including Premium Account and, of course, boosters. This starts at 200 XP for a Tier Four Tank, rising in steps of 50 until Tier Ten for 500 XP. So, get in the festive spirit and go decorate with your opponent’s scrap metal.

Earn some rewards through the devastating drones of destruction

So, what is up for grabs this year, besides the regular reward of delightful destruction? Glad you asked, because there are ten stages to blast your way through, each with different prizes. Starting at Stage One is a temporary reaction pack lasting two weeks, stuffed with flexes, festive ducks, and three Vinnie Faces to show your satisfaction or lack thereof. Stage Two starts with a trio of collectable items, this time with an Ammo Garland. Keep it to show off, or immediately pawn it for 3,125 XP.

Stage Three flips over to that age-old celebratory gift; cold hard cash. 100,000 Credits to be precise, which is nothing to sneeze at. Stage Four bounces back to collectables, with a London bus-inspired Routemaster to adorn your halls or sell for 3,750 XP. Stage Five starts with a one-two punch of Vinnie, starting with a Festive Avatar of the infamous footballer. This is quickly followed up by the final collectible at Stage Six; a Tank, Toys and Two Candy Cane sculptures of the man himself. Despite the genuinely amusing reference, got to love a pun, it can be sold for 400 Gold, which is quite tempting.

Rounding off the rewards in some style

We are now well into the big ones, with Stages Seven and Eight featuring two warpaints for your tank. Both of these are quite attractive designs, with Pain Threshold adorned with shells and helmets, and Heavyweight coming in with chains, tags, and a very appealing colour palette. Either of these will make your tank shine bright, and Stage Nine does the same for your profile, with a special background featuring Vinnie Jones and Santa joyriding a tank. Rounding us off with a tank attachment is Stage Ten, the Final Argument. Made up of a baseball bat, razor blade and knuckle duster, it will remind your enemies just who is boss.

It is a season of some pretty enviable rewards so don’t delay, especially with the Cobra Draw expiring on the 10th. Head to the App Store and Google Play now to start your festive journey in World of Tanks Blitz.
