PUBG Mobile pulls a marketing blinder with it version 3.0 teaser

Over the years, there have been a lot of different marketing gimmicks tried by companies and ambassadors, some of them land like Snoop Dog and his recent smoking misdirection, and some are just rather frustrating, let’s no lie. Tencent, however, has firmly placed itself in the former thanks to its cryptic clues for PUBG Mobile Version 3.0.

PUBG Mobile is no stranger to massive version updates of new features and modes, occasionally styled around massive names such as Dragon Ball or BLACKPINK. You’d think they would continue in this vein, however, they have gone the entire other direction by giving us a few doodles and telling us to figure it out, which is truly marvellous.

Imagine droves of fans pouring over these clues, and the endorphins if you have them right. A new Themed Game Mode shows what looks like a new melee weapon, perhaps a new structure, and maybe a mode where the winners of a match all do battle in something of a champion’s rumble. There also looks to be a grapple mode when flying, which will be fun.

The Classic Mode clue is hilariously simple; a sniper’s bullet penetrating two individuals, but even this clue can be dug deep. It looks obvious, but it can’t be that easy can it? Whatever World of Wonder is adding, it is safe to say that all those amateur designs will be having a field day churning out weird and eponymously wonderful creations.

Finally, Metro Royale getting a shout-out is sure to delight fans of the 4A series, especially as it looks to be packing a new map. We can speculate all day long if we choose, and no doubt the fanbase will be, but I think it is safe to say PUBG Mobile has nailed it with this latest marketing tactic.

PUB Mobile is available to download now from the App Store and Google Play.
