Experience the glory of the Northern Lights without leaving your house in Mini Motorways

Dinosaur Polo Club, one of the best developer names out there, have recently announced the final update of 2023 for Mini Motorways. Instead of embracing Christmas, this event is instead inspired by one of the most beautiful natural phenomena, the aurora borealis.

If you aren’t one of the four million people who have played Mini Motorways before, you are presented with a simple small town, that in the blink of an eye expands to a bustling metropolis. It is your job to build the roads to connect the correct colour houses to the buildings they need to go to and keep traffic flowing as smoothly as you can.

Sadly, heading to Iceland to see the real deal is probably off the cards thanks to that ghastly volcano business, so heading to the virtual world of Reykjavik is the next best thing. You will be able to build on a little peninsula surrounded by seas, all inspired by the Northern Lights, complete with endless gameplay options should you wish to just enjoy the scenes.

The night scenes are particularly striking, with all the vehicles and buildings sporting one of the Light’s traditional colours. As you would expect, this update brings with it new Achievements to unlock, and a catalogue of Daily, Weekly, and City challenges to complete. It also comes packed with some minor bug fixes and performance improvements for smoother gameplay.

When announcing this shiny new update, Dinosaur Polo Clubs’ Community Manager, Casey Lucas-Quaid, said: “Winter has arrived, and whether your December is one for family and exchanging gifts or just an excuse to step away from the grind, we’ve been tinkering away for a few months on our stunning new Aurora Borealis update to try to capture a bit of winter coziness. This is our final update of 2023, and we’re thrilled to share what 2024 and beyond have planned for Mini Motorways!”

Mini Motorways is available to download now from the App Storefor those with an Apple Arcade subscription.
