The major patch heralding the start of Season 1 of MW3 is almost here, and now the MW3 Season 1 patch notes are in the wild it’s bad news for those who enjoyed snaking around on the floor.

That’s because Activision have revealed they’ve finally addressed the game’s broken Snake movement glitch that was discovered a couple of weeks ago, with today’s MW3 Season 1 patch notes confirming the fix they’ve now put in place. The note declares the following message: “We’ve introduced a delay to stance transitions to combat a movement exploit commonly referred to by players as ‘snaking’ . We’ll monitor the impact of these changes and continue to address feedback where appropriate.”

Specifically, according to the notes – rapid stance transitions will now be subject to the following delay:

  • Crouch to stand: 150ms
  • Prone to stand 600ms

This will hopefully prevent players from exploiting this glitch and giving them an unfair advantage, as hilarious as it was to see players flying around the map on their belly. For a time, it was mainly confined to PC players, but as our very own Jay found out, with a little effort it could be recreated on console too, so it was very much for the best that it’s now been patched out.

There’s plenty of other changes in the MW3 Season 1 patch of course – which is available to preload now on PlayStation with the PC and Xbox versions surely soon to follow, so check out our guide so you can get downloading. The MW3 Season 1 start time however, is very close now – so be sure to check out our MW3 Season 1 Weapons guide to get up to speed on what else is new in the game’s newest update.
