With the imminent MW3 Season 1 start time fast approaching, fans have been pouring over the camos and cosmetics that’ll be available through the game’s first Battle Pass.
However, there’s one particular style of camo that hasn’t seemingly been announced for the first season of content yet, and it’s a remarkable omission considering it does indeed feature in the shooter’s campaign mode. The design in question is that of Snow Camo – as pointed out by DisastrousBeach8087 over on the Modern Warfare 3 subreddit in their thread “All I want for Christmas is snow camo!” and has a number of fans in agreement on the curious lack of appropriate winter themed cosmetics.
It’s certainly a curious omission – particularly as the skins themselves have clearly been designed and exist in the game’s main story. As DJ Hindsight says “I’m still convinced that if they brought out proper milsim skins like these they would still sell like the ridiculous bright ones do.” They certainly have a point – and it’s not as if there aren’t some festive themed operators and cosmetics already in there, such as the Santa Gnaws Ultra Skin bundle that will be available in the store once Season 1 drops.
In addition, it’s also been confirmed that some of MW3’s fan favourite maps will also be getting a winter makeover too. And there’s already a couple of the game’s multiplayer maps – Sub Base and Skidrow immediately spring to mind – that are also already set in winter, so it’s not as if winter battles aren’t also already a thing. The apparent lack, then, of winter appropriate cosmetics included in the pass for even our main Task Force 141 characters is a baffling one.
Season 1 is expected to last around 3 months, so it’ll certainly take us through winter – but there’s plenty else to look forward to.
