Ubisoft Reveals Co-Op Details for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

Ubisoft has gotten specific about the co-op details for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. The game will support a two-player online cross-platform co-op, allowing players to team up with a friend and experience the story and world of Pandora together. There are some stipulations, but their reveal is more detailed than you’d expect.

As stated in the website post, to unlock co-op, players must complete the quest “The Aranahe Clan.” After this, players can explore the Western Frontier with their co-op buddy, taking on the RDA threat together. This would likely be the tutorial quest and introduce players to a Na’vi base. This way, it would make sense to adventure with another Na’vi.

One player will be the co-op host, while the other will be the guest. The world will reflect the host’s progress, so if you’ve already completed a certain area or quest, your guest won’t be able to experience it for the first time. It’s something to keep in mind, but if you’re playing the whole game with a friend or just need help, then it shouldn’t matter.

However, any quests and activities you complete in co-op will also count towards your solo progress, so you won’t have to replay anything later. Both players will keep all gear, items, and collectibles they earn during their co-op session, so there’s no need to worry about missing out on anything.

Regarding difficulty, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will respect each player’s settings in an innovative way. This means that if you’re playing in easy mode and your friend is on hard, the game will scale the difficulty for each of you accordingly. So it scales the damage you give and the damage you take, which is pretty smart. In cases where your Combat Strength decides the difficulty, it will scale to whatever the host player chose for a difficulty level.
