During an interview with ComicBook, Harbour opened up about the final edition of the Netflix series. He confirmed that fans can expect great things from Stranger Things season 5. However, he didn’t refrain from making a bold statement during the conversation and encouraged the fans to bash the series if it didn’t end satisfactorily.

I’m gonna just make a bold statement. Each year, it feels like the show’s getting bigger and bigger and more exciting. And we have a real responsibility to knock it out of the park in the final season. So if we don’t, give me all of your fan rage. Write the petitions. Go ahead, do it. Because I’m going down there next week to start and I’m going to pour my whole heart into this thing.

Harbour previously expressed concerns about what happens to him after Stranger Things ends career-wise. However, regarding the show, he assured the fans that the makers and the cast would deliver a “finale” that would make everyone happy. “I’ve read some of the scripts and in my mind, they’re stunningly beautiful. It’s time,” he said. “We’re going to knock it out of the park. We’re going to deliver you the finale that you need, that you want, that I want.”

Harbour’s comments come a few days after creators Mark and Ross Duffer unveiled a sneak peek of Stranger Things season 5’s opening scene. The makers shared a photo of the first moments of season 5’s first episode, and the excerpt begins with text reading, “DARKNESS,” over “the sound of COLD WIND. GROANING TREES. And… A CHILD’S VOICE. Singing a familiar song.” Meanwhile, another photo from the official Stranger Things writers’ account unveiled that the initial episode of season 5 will be titled “The Crawl.”

With the conclusion of the SAG-AFTRA strike, fans can anticipate a deeper insight into Stranger Things‘ final season. The actors can share their thoughts on the scripts and provide insights into what fans can expect from the eagerly awaited last installment.

Stranger Things seasons 1-4 are now streaming on Netflix.
