Tekken 8 Steve Gameplay Trailer Shows A Boxing Legend In Action

Bandai Namco has released another new Tekken 8 character introduction trailer, this time for British boxing legend Steve Fox.

Along with Leo and several others, Steve was technically unveiled earlier this year, but this is the first time a trailer has given him the full spotlight.

He’s voiced by English voice acting workhorse Gideon Emery, and he’s got exactly the kind of cocky, defiant attitude you’d expect from the character.

Steve is making a return to Tekken in the upcoming Tekken 8.

In the first part of the trailer, Steve’s opponent is wrestling legend King, who was introduced in his very own gameplay trailer earlier this year.

Since this is Steve’s trailer, it’s no spoiler to say that Steve lands plenty of blows against King, and also that Steve’s fighting style is very much focused around punches.

After Steve puts paid to King, Hwoarang steps up as his next opponent, claiming he’ll “never lose” when it comes to “how many punches [he] can get off”.

Steve responds by telling Hwoarang he “definitely win[s]” when it comes to “who talks the most”. Strong words, Steve.

As ever, at the conclusion of Steve’s trailer, we see his Rage Art, wherein he delivers a flurry of blows, ending with a hook that serves as a knockout punch.

Steve joins a roster of returning Tekken characters that also includes Nina Williams, Marshall Law, and Ling Xiaoyu, as well as Paul Phoenix, Bryan Fury, and Jin Kazama.

New additions to the lineup in Tekken 8 include Reina, who was designed by Bayonetta artist Mari Shimazaki, and Victor Chevalier, a French agent played by Vincent Cassel.

The fighting game will also purportedly feature a single-player campaign akin to the classic Tekken Force mode, and the return of the popular and rather goofy Tekken Ball mode has been confirmed.

Tekken 8 is scheduled to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on January 26th. Stay tuned for more info.
