Steam Deck Gets New Startup Movies Inspired by Elden Ring, Persona 5, and More Games

Valve just released a batch of startup movies for its Steam Deck handheld PC inspired by five popular games.

The platform already had a variety of startup movies to choose from, but they were based on original art. Now, if you love one of the five featured games, you can show it to everyone when you turn on your Steam Deck during your morning commute.

The games featured are Elden Ring, Persona 5 Royal, Vampire Survivors, Hades, and Dead Cells.

The Startup Movie inspired by Vampire Survivors is adorably pixelated.

All the videos can be unlocked on the dedicated page for 3,000 Steam Points each. On top of your Steam Deck, they will also work with the Big Picture mode of the Steam client.

While no announcement has been made, it’s very likely that we’ll see more of these popping up dedicated to more games in the near future.

Released in early 2022, the Steam Deck has taken the PC gaming space by storm (and you can read our review from back then, defining the machine as “a revolutionary piece of hardware”), basically kickstarting a whole portable PC trend.

Recently, Valve announced and released a brand-new version of the Steam Deck including an OLED screen and more tweaks to make its lineup of handhelds even more attractive.

While the new screen is slightly bigger (7.4 inches instead of 7) the resolution remains the same 1280 x 800. That being said, the 50Whr battery is considerably larger, promising 3-12 hours of gameplay, which is between 30 and 50% higher than the 40Whr battery of the original LCD version.

The new model also has an updated APU with a smaller node (6 nm compared to 7 nm) than that of its predecessor, contributing to the increase in battery efficiency. The Wi-Fi 6E standard replacing the original Wi-Fi 5 also promises a considerably faster download when you need to get a new game on your Deck.
