Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade Release Window and Key Art Revealed

Today, at the Amusement Expo in Tokyo Big Sight, Taito and Capcom revealed the release window and the key art for Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade.

As shared on X (formerly Twitter), the game will launch in Japanese arcades in December.

On top of the release window, we get to see the key visual, which you can enjoy in the picture below.

Created in partnership with Taito, the arcade version of Street Fighter 6 is playable at the Amusement Expo following a location test performed earlier this month at four different arcades in Tokyo, Sendai, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka.

The game supports online gameplay, stat recording via NESiCA cards, and even external controllers.

If you’re not familiar with the Japanese online scene, unlike most Western nations, it’s still very much alive, especially due to the combination of video games and UFO catchers (claw machines), which are extremely popular in the country.

Following an inevitable slowdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has led to the closure of many arcades while others changed hands, the industry has been recovering steadily, and it’s pretty much where it used to be, so it’ll be nice to see the debut of a high-profile fighting game like Street Fighter 6.

If you’re not able to enjoy the game in Japanese arcades when it launches next month, Street Fighter 6 is currently available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.  Following a successful launch, it has shipped 2.47 million units as of September 30.

Just a few days ago, we saw the reveal of the Outfit 3 costumes for all the launch characters, and you can read our rather enthusiastic review of the game, which awarded it with a 9 out of 10.

In other arcade news, Sega announced today the return of Virtua Fighter 3tb with Virtua Fighter 3tb Online, which will debut in a few days.
