Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition Launches December 5 for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, & PC

CD Projekt RED has made an exciting announcement today about Cyberpunk 2077. The Polish developer has revealed the upcoming launch of an Ultimate Edition for this widely acclaimed sci-fi open-world action RPG. Scheduled for release on December 5, Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Rumors surrounding the release of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition began circulating online last month, fueled by the appearance of a PEGI A rating for the edition on the European PEGI rating system. Eventually, CD Projekt’s chief commercial officer, Michał Nowakowski, confirmed in a previous investor Q&A that a complete edition of Cyberpunk 2077 is in the works.

In a recent Reddit post, CD Projekt RED provided more information about Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, detailing what fans can expect from this release. This edition includes the base game set in Night City’s dark future and Phantom Liberty, a spy-thriller narrative unfolding in the walled-off district of Dogtown. Likewise, players will take on the role of V, a cyber-enhanced mercenary, and embark on a fight for survival filled with story-defining decisions, action-packed gameplay, and unforgettable characters, including rockerboy Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) and FIA sleeper agent Solomon Reed (played by Idris Elba).

Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition also contains the free Update 2.0, which overhauled many of the game’s systems, introducing dynamic skill trees, high-octane vehicle combat, and enhanced enemy and police AI. It also brings new weapons, vehicles, and clothes. The release is complemented by a collection of previously released digital goodies available through the “My Rewards” program, available to all who register.

Digital purchases for Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will be available starting December 5th, with a physical version for next-gen consoles slated to hit select markets through local distributors on the same date. As for the pricing details, a previous leak from GameStop’s Internal System suggests a cost of $59.99. However, CD Projekt RED has not officially verified this information as of yet.
