Endless Dungeon Reveals Future Changes to Co-op Meta Progression

The rogue-lite tactical action game, Endless Dungeon, just enjoyed a successful launch yesterday but it appears that developer AMPLITUDE Studios is already gearing up to make improvements based on the early feedback it received. Particularly, their attention is focused on addressing issues related to co-op meta-progression.

In the current state of Endless Dungeon‘s co-op mode, the content accessible to players mostly depends on the local progress and unlocks of the host player. These include available districts, playable heroes, saloon improvements, weapon mods, and available crystal bot upgrade chips. Furthermore, hosts can play as heroes they’ve unlocked locally, while guests can choose from heroes unlocked by the hosts and their own local progress.

The issue mainly arises from the fact that unlocking new heroes during multiplayer gameplay works only for the host, leading to frustration for other players who may discover that they have not gained access to new heroes after several hours of play with their friends.

Fortunately, AMPLITUDE Studios has swiftly acknowledged these concerns and has outlined its plans to address them. In a recent statement, the development team announced that they will start working on a solution next week, with an estimated implementation and testing period of a few weeks to ensure that it is working properly. While they didn’t delve into the specifics, the developer hinted that these upcoming changes to Endless Dungeon will make sure hero unlocks in co-op are shared with all players. In addition, AMPLITUDE Studios has also acknowledged issues with unlocking achievements in co-op mode and promised to work on resolving this problem.

It is certainly reassuring to see AMPLITUDE Studios taking swift action to address these issues within just over a day after Endless Dungeon‘s launch. Players can only hope that these changes will be implemented without a significant delay.
