Monster Hunter Now – Gathering Points

So let’s get into explaining things, so you can get back to hunting!

What Is A Gathering Point?

A gathering point is a hotspot location determined by the Niantic community where materials are generated. The Gathering Points are located around the player’s real-world environment points of interest. They stay fixed in that location, so once they have been located you can always use that same Gathering Point to get resources.

What Do Gathering Points Do?

Gathering Points gives the player valuable materials needed for crafting and upgrading gear and weapons. When ready to harvest, the Gathering Point will take on one of two appearances. The first is a stump with shiny blue ores called the Mining Outcrop. Which of course, rewards you with different ores upon smashing it. The second is a Bonepile which has the appearance of a monster skull and bones, this will drop a variety of Monster Bones, Claws and Bugs upon being smashed.

Where Are They?

Gathering Points are randomly generated around your world. They always stay in the same location, however, once the materials have been collected there is a cooldown before more will spawn in. The Gathering Points can be identified as “stumps” around the world with either the blue ore appearance for the “Mining Outcrop”, or the monster skull, “Bonepile”. Once materials have been gathered the stump looks empty on the map until it replenishes.
