2011 Horror Shooter is Currently One of the Best-Selling Games on Xbox

Fear 3, an Xbox 360 game from 2011, has recently made it to the Xbox’s best-selling games charts after a major price cut. Many fans consider the Xbox 360 the winner of that generation’s console wars. With its sleek interface, the huge influx of classic games, and the backwards compatibility that it has offered, the Xbox 360 was truly a console ahead of its time.

With the Xbox 360 store’s closure a few months earlier, Microsoft decided to offer many of its games at a discounted rate on the Xbox Series X/S. While not all the games from that era are digitally available on the current generation’s console, those that are have gotten surprisingly good reception and a resurgence in the past few months. 2011’s Fear 3 recently made it to a couple of best-selling charts on the Xbox. Surprisingly, the game only received its first backwards compatible discount during the week prior’s sale, and that has helped in the game’s success. Per the Xbox best-selling charts, Fear 3 is ranked tenth in the UK and 20th in the US. It has even soared over titles like Red Dead Redemption, Minecraft, and more. While Fear 3 has positive reviews, the huge discount offered has really helped players get into the title.

There seems to be some merit to offering many of the Xbox 360’s and the original Xbox’s games at a discount to allow gamers in the modern age to experience a lot of these good titles.

At the moment, there are a limited number of Xbox 360 games offered on Xbox Game Pass, with other titles being sold in the store separately. While many of the games from that era are backward compatible, not everything is offered in the digital store. Some of them are even being offered at a price point that would rival many games of the current generation. Fans are hoping that Fear 3‘s recent success in the charts can serve as proof that classic titles can still sell high and give players a fun experience as long as the price is acceptable.
