The first Advent of 2024 is coming – the first candle can be lit on December 1st. If you want to make an Advent wreath, you don't have to rely on green fir branches. Even everyday items can be easily transformed into Christmas candle holders.
Advent wreath made from cans
For example, how about an Advent wreath made from four old cans as a basic structure?
You need:
- 4 empty tin cans
- 4 candles
- flower bubble
- Moss or artificial grass
This is how it works:
- Cut the floral foam to size and place it in the jar.
- Press the candle into the center of the floral foam.
- Cover the candle with some moss or artificial grass.
- Decorate it however you want with some pinecones and stars.

Have you really not wanted to eat cookies all these years? Well, then you can simply make an Advent wreath out of a cookie jar!
You need:
- 1 Ghezlis Charter
- 1 large garbage bag
- 4 candles
- Decosand
- flower bubble
- Moss or artificial grass
- small glass ball
This is how it works:
- Line the mold with a garbage bag and fill it with sand.
- Cut off the underside of the edge of the garbage bag and secure the edge with tape.
- Fill the shapes in the sand with sticky compound.
- Press candle into floral foam.
- Cover the cuttings with moss or artificial grass.
- Fill the gaps with small gifts or glass balls as desired.
Advent wreath made of pine cones
Cohesion is the priority here. Stand the pinecones upright and tie them together with felt string.
Advent garland made from driftwood
For this Advent wreath made from driftwood, you only need four “ingredients.”
You need:
- driftwood
- 4 candles
- 4 candlesticks
- Lift tow gun
This is how it works:
- Stack the driftwood pieces on top of each other and glue them together with a hot glue gun.
- Use a hot glue gun to glue the candle holder to the wood.
- Last but not least, add 4 candles and the job is done!

This is how it works:
- Use hot glue to stick the balls together to form a square.
- Remove the hooks from the four corner balls and insert the candle with the holder.
- Cut the felt to size to use as coasters.
Advent wreath in drawer
Crafting tips for all vintage lovers. All you need is a small drawer (such as an old chest of drawers or nightstand), candles, and some decorative materials.
Advent wreath in glass
All you need is four old glasses and a funky Advent calendar. Fill the glass with desired decoration materials and place the candle over the glass.
